PBI’s COVID-19 Response

In response to Coronavirus (COVID-19), PBI Height Safety has a strong and robust contengency plan in place to maintain an operationally efficient and safe working environment.

We want to assure you that PBI Height Safety is dealing with the unprecedented challenges and that we have full capability to support you and all your height safety requirements. Throughout these unprecedented times, our focus is very much on ensuring that safety never stops.

What we are doing

> All international and domestic air travel has been postponed with immediate effect until further notice.

> All external face to face meetings with customers and suppliers have been put on hold until future notice. PBI staff will be able to provide the same level of support through alternative channels like phone calls and video software.

> Reducing the size and frequency of internal meeting.

> Increased sanitisation of offices.

> Asking all visitors and contractors at PBI’s Head Office to sign a Health Declaration Form as condition of access, confirming that they and their households are well, and providing details of any recent international and domestic travel.

> If required, our team are fully prepared to operate remotely at any given time. Much of our business is already conducted digitally, we have increased our communications and virtual meeting capabilities so we can continue communication regardless of location.

> PBI is committed to continue to operate at the same professional level as in the past and we are prepared to support our valued stakeholders and weather the storm while protecting our people.

What is the status of the PBI supply pipeline?

Healthy. PBI is in constant communication with system and part suppliers. At this stage, PBI is unaware of any delays, issues or disruption with supply.

We are making sure we have the right products at the right place at the right time. Ensuring our supply chain remains open is important, which is why we are in constant communication with our global suppliers to make sure we continue to have product available to you. If required, we will look at alternatives to provide you with the supplies you need.

What is PBI’s worst case scenario plan?

PBI has a robust business as usual plan to ensure that PBI can continue to operate should the worst occur. Plans are in place to mobilise staff at any moment allowing them to continue to work in isolation or in the event of business shutdowns.

Can / will PBI continue to complete scheduled installation, maintenance and recertification works?

Yes. All scheduled work will proceed. PBI has installation teams based throughout New Zealand. Please note, that prior to arriving on site, PBI staff will aim to complete as much work as possible (e.g. site inductions and paperwork), to limit the amount of time they are on site and proximity to others.

Is PBI still operating nationally?

Yes, all of PBI’s business units (Engineered Systems, PPE & Recertifiction) are still operating through New Zealand. Although domestic travel is on hold for all staff, regional staff and offices will assist with on-site visits, installation works and completing recertifications (both systems and personal protective equipment).

Our expert height safety Consultants and PPE Sales Team are fully operational by phone, email or video regardless of location – and them not travelling, they now have even more time to assist you!

Can I still have a product demonstration if a Consultant can’t visit me in person?

Yes, of course you can! Just drop our expert Consultants a line and they will organise a video meeting which works just as well as if you were in person!

Video is perhaps the easiest way for our Consultants to visually demonstrate products and applications. After all, we’re here to help.

I can’t have face-to-face meetings. Will PBI have video meetings with me?

Yes. Absolutely. PBI uses Zoom video conferencing. Whatever programme you use, our team will happily adapt to. Nothing will stop us delivering excellent service and advice.

How is PBI managing PPE stock, ordering and enquires?
