Problem

PBI were invited to provide a solution to the underside of the main roof structural beams.


Solution

Many design aspects of this project required both fall arrest and abseil both inside and outside of the building. Outside the impressive ‘X’ façade design created a walkway between the windows and the external louvres.


Products

RoofSafe Cable/Spirotech Anchor System mounted to the main roof, fixed into the plywood roof structure. Uni8 Cable System to each level for external window cleaning. Samson Monorail to underside of the structural steel beams across the atrium.

Problem

PBI were invited to provide a solution to the underside of the main roof structural beams. The external plant area required Monkeytoe walkway but due to the huge extent of mechanical plant this proved very difficult to work around. The external fall arrest lines at each level behind the façade required additional work to overcome the stainless steel downpipes.

Solution

Many design aspects of this project required both fall arrest and abseil both inside and outside of the building. Outside the impressive ‘X’ façade design created a walkway between the windows and the external louvres at each level, however the louvres themselves were not sufficient to create a barrier or handrail, hence fall arrest was required to access all the external windows. Supply and install fall arrest systems to main roof area. The atrium design features a huge “V” formed by the large structural beams running across the atrium, the underside required a rail system which could be used to support advertising banners. Walkway and access to plant areas.
